Last Post for Fall 2010
Please feel free to send me a digital image of your project if you can. A picture attached to an email will do fine. I’ll understand if you are unable to do this. Work diligently on the review guides I have provided. Feel free to email questions- I will check email as often as I [...]
Day 80, December 13th 2010
Review time! GPS & EQ for the rest of the semester is all of them! I’m attaching a two PDF’s to help you review. They are the same as what was distributed in class. You should work on the problems for practice and use the other sheet to help you complete the Physictionary we started [...]
Day 79, December 10th 2010
GPS: All Prior EQ: All prior Test day for electricity. Complete your project over the weekend and have it ready for me on Monday the 13th!
Day 78, December 9th 2010
GPS: The learner will determine equivalent resistances in series and parallel circuits. EQ: What’s the difference between a series and parallel circuit? Students will have the opportunity to complete unfinished simulation labs. I’ll provide a review guide for the test & discuss it.
Day 77, December 8th 2010
GPS: The learner will dtermine the relationship among potential difference, current, and resistance in an electrical circuit. EQ: What’s the relationship between v, i, & r? I’ll check & go over the worksheet from yesterday. We’ll do a hands on lab if time allows. Test Friday.
Day 76, December 7th 2010
GPS: The learner will determine the relationship among potential difference, current, and resistance in an electrical circuit. EQ: What is Ohm’s Law? I’ll review notes from last week, discuss the labs, & provide a worksheet on Ohm’s Law problems. The test for this unit will be Friday, December 10th.
Day 75, December 6th 2010
GPS: The learner will determine the relationship among potential difference, current, and resistance in an electrical circuit. EQ: What happens when charges interact? What’s the relationship between v, i, & r? We’ll be doing more simulation labs. Here are the links: John Travoltage Ohm’s Law Circuit Construction Kit
Day 74, December 3rd 2010
GPS: The learner will describe the transformation of mechanical energy into electrical energy. EQ: How does a generator work? We’ll do two more simulation labs: Generators Balloons & Static Electricity As time allows, I’ll introduce students to the Van De Graaf generator
Day 73, December 2nd 2010
GPS: The learner will evaluate relationships between electrical and magnetic forces. EQ: What is the relationship between charges and fields? We’ll begin some simulation labs: Magnets & Electromagnets Lab Charges & Fields Lab
Day 72, December 1st, 2010
GPS: The learner will determine the relationship between moving electric charges and magnetic fields. EQ: Can you map a magnetic field? We’ll view a video if time allows and do a lab to map a magnetic field.
